The conspicuous absence of the presence of God

Has anyone else found it disturbing that so many “Christian” leaders do not give much thought to needing God to be present for anything that they do to have any authentic and lasting spiritual impact?  Have we really “improved” ministry to the point where God’s presence is not even necessary anymore?  This is doubtful.  God is absolutely without a doubt necessary for anything that we do to even make a genuine impact in the life of a person.  I guess we should probably cut an hour or two out of our committee planning meetings, and use it to humbly cry out to God for Him to show up.  If we don’t pray, and He doesn’t show up – we are wasting our time.  In that case might as well forget calling ourselves Christian leaders and experts
