Intro:

“To focus solely upon God and give Him glory for who He is and what He has done.”

“Without doubt, the mightiest though the mind can entertain is the thought of God, and the greatest word in any language is its word for God.  It is of immense importance that our ideas about God correspond as nearly as possible to the true being of God.  The God we must learn to know is the Majesty in the heavens, God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, the only God our Savior.  He sits above the circle of the earth, He stretches out the heavens as a curtain and spreads them out as a tent and calls them all by name through the greatness of His power, He sees the works of man as emptiness, He puts no confidence in princess and asks no counsel of kings.”  A.W. Tozer in the Knowledge of the Holy

For us to be able to truly worship God we must have a proper idea of who He is, and what He values.  Just as knowledge is important in receiving salvation through Christ, knowledge is important in worshiping God.
