I have been lamenting the reality of the rising cost of education for awhile now.  Recently I have come across three schools that provide Theological training for a very reasonable price.

The first is Tyndale Theological Seminary.  This school provides distance education, classes at regional sites, and on-campus training.  This is very beneficial for the person who is unable to relocate for training.  The school is very conservative and dispensational.  The classes are very affordable.  They offer Associate degrees up to PhD’s.  If one was pursuing a PhD, each class costs $300.  This is per class, not per credit hour!  The school is not accredited.  They explain why on the site.  You should check it out.

The second is Scofield Theological Seminary.  They also provide distance education, and on-campus training.  This is very beneficial for the person who is unable to relocate for training.  The school is very conservative and dispensational.  The classes are very affordable.  They offer Associate degrees up to PhD’s.  If one was pursuing a PhD, it will cost around $3,000.  This is for the entire program!  They also offer research degrees – ThM, ThD, PhD.  The school is not accredited.  They explain why on the site.  You should check it out.

The third is the University of Wales, through Kings Evangelical Divinity School.  They offer PhD’s programs which are entirely research/thesis oriented.  There is no need to relocate because you can do all of your work long distance.  The degree is very affordable – around $7,300.  Check it out.

These may be very viable options for you.  I know that I will be seriously considering these three options as a near the completion of my Master of Divinity program.
